moments of silence

Rosa Parks died yesterday at age 92. She became a famous inspirational woman when a small act of defiance spurred the civil rights movement in America in 1955. She is an American icon and I sincerely hope her legacy of courage for freedom and equality lives on.

Meanwhile we have crossed a morbid milestone:
2000 American Soldiers have lost their lives in Iraq
more than 15,000 have been wounded
and an estimated 30,000 innocent Iraqi citizens including children have been killed while caught in the crossfire of this horrific war
